Power
your home.
Grid-tied and hybrid solar systems for Kiwi homes — cut your power bills, add battery storage, and take control of your energy. Designed and installed by our Tauranga team, right across New Zealand.
Lower bills, more control.
At MEDA we design residential solar around how your home actually uses power — not a one-size-fits-all package. Whether you want to cut your bills with a grid-tied system or add battery storage for backup and evening use, we'll recommend the right fit, not the most expensive one.
We handle design, supply, installation, programming and ongoing support — so the whole job is looked after by one team from start to finish.
Find the right setup.
Four ways we power Kiwi homes — we'll help you choose based on your roof, your usage, and your goals.
Grid-Tied
Connected to the grid and designed to slash your daytime power costs. The most cost-effective system to install — and excess solar is exported back to the grid.
Best paired with a battery if most of your usage is in the evening.
Hybrid + Battery
Solar generation plus battery storage — use your own power at night and during peak rates, and keep the essentials running through an outage.
Ask us about the Dyness Cygni — a tidy, scalable all-in-one hybrid system we supply and install.
AC-Coupled Retrofit
Already have grid-tied solar with a non-hybrid inverter (like a Fronius Primo)? We can add battery storage with a Victron MultiPlus — no need to replace your existing setup.
Pre-Built Cabinets
Tidy, plug-and-play solar cabinets pre-wired and pre-programmed by our team — built to MEDA's standard for a faster, cleaner install.
Dyness Cygni
An all-in-one hybrid inverter and scalable battery (7.3–43.8 kWh) in one wiring-free stack — IP66 rated, 1C ultra-rapid charge and VPP-ready. A tidy, futureproof choice for grid-tied homes wanting backup and lower bills.
We supply and install the Cygni — and supply it to the trade.

Good to know.
Grid-tied or hybrid — which do I need?
If you mostly use power during the day, grid-tied gives the best value. If most of your usage is in the evening or you want backup during outages, a hybrid system with battery storage is usually the better choice. We'll size it around your actual usage.
Do I have to have a battery?
No. Many homes start grid-tied with no battery and add storage later. We design every system so it can be expanded down the track.
What about full off-grid homes?
If your property has no grid connection — rural land, a bach, or a tiny home — head to our Off-Grid page, which is built specifically for energy-independent systems.
Do you install nationwide?
Yes. We're based in Tauranga with our own in-house install team, backed by a trusted network of installers across New Zealand.
