Keep your power. Day and night, outage or not. A sleek wall-mounted battery that stores your spare solar — or cheap night-rate power — and runs your home on it when it matters. Backup built in. Designed, installed and backed by MEDA.

From P.O.A. — 10 kWh, supply-only. Installed pricing quoted for your switchboard.

The Powerstore5 is a complete battery storage system for grid-connected homes: a 10 kWh Dyness Powerbox G2 on the wall (add more anytime, 10 kWh at a time) and a 5 kVA Victron inverter/charger, AC-coupled to your switchboard. Got solar already? It stores the surplus you're currently giving away — your panels and inverter stay exactly as they are, any brand. No solar? It charges itself on cheap night rates and runs your home through the expensive peaks. And when the grid drops out, your essential circuits keep running — lights, fridge, internet — without you touching a thing.

Three ways to run it

  • Solar self-consumption — store your spare solar by day, run the house on it at night. Your existing panels and solar inverter stay untouched.
  • Cheap-rate charging — no solar needed: charge the battery on night rates, spend it at peak.
  • Grid backup — the battery sits full and ready, taking over the instant the power cuts.

Grid-connected batteries need your lines company's approval (AS/NZS 4777) — we handle that with you.

Built for

Homes on single-phase power that already have solar and want to stop exporting for cents and buying back for dollars — or homes with no solar that want backup and cheaper power anyway. If you've been quoted a “battery-ready” system and never got the battery, this is the battery.

What you get

  • 1× Victron MultiPlus-II GX 48/5000 inverter/charger — built-in monitoring, WiFi connected
  • 1× Dyness Powerbox G2 — 10 kWh lithium, slim wall-mount (only 165 mm deep), weatherproof (IP66), 8000+ cycle life, built-in WiFi + app
  • Built-in fire suppression — every battery carries its own aerosol fire extinguisher that detects and acts in seconds, plus a smart BMS
  • Victron grid meter — so the system knows exactly what your house is doing
  • Engineered DC protection — breaker-protected, properly sized, no loose wiring
  • Free VRM phone app — your solar, battery and savings, live
  • Optional: free hot water — spare solar heats your cylinder once the battery's full

FAQ

Will it work with my existing solar? Yes — any brand of grid-tied solar. We don't touch your panels or your solar inverter; the Powerstore watches your meter and soaks up the surplus.

What happens in a power cut? Your essential circuits — lights, fridge, internet and more — switch to battery instantly. (Standard grid-tied solar shuts down in an outage by law; ask us about keeping your solar running too.)

No solar — is it still worth it? Often yes. On a time-of-use power plan the battery charges at the cheap night rate and runs your home through the expensive peaks, and you get backup thrown in.

Where does it go? On the wall — garage, plant room, or outside. The Powerbox G2 is IP66 weatherproof and only 165 mm deep — slimmer than a heat pump's outdoor unit.

Can I add more battery later? Yes — the Powerbox G2 parallels up, 10 kWh at a time, and the system is sized with expansion in mind.

What about battery fires? These are LiFePO4 batteries — the calm, stable lithium chemistry — managed by a smart BMS, and every Powerbox G2 also has a built-in aerosol fire extinguisher that detects and acts in seconds. That's a level of protection most home batteries don't have.

Is it safe? Yes — on top of the battery's own protection, the whole system is installed and certified by licensed electricians to AS/NZS standards, with battery placement per AS/NZS 5139.
